Tom Lindman earned his PhD in public policy and management at the University of Washington Daniel J. Evans School of Public Policy and Governance. His main areas of research include demographic measurements and methods, educational outcomes, and child and family well-being. More specifically, Lindman focuses on understanding how U.S. social safety net programs interact with employment and affect family well-being. As a Bell Fellow, he aims to deepen his focus on population health by studying how the impact of paid family leave policies on parents and children varies with employment characteristics.
