Hero Ashman

Hero Ashman earned her PhD in sociology from the University of California, Berkeley. She is a sociologist and demographer who studies care work and its relationship to family formation and inequality. Through quantitative and historical studies, she explores how the family outcomes of some people depend on their access to the reproductive labor of other people. Hero is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard’s Center for Racial Inequality and Societal Equity Studies.
