Nidhiya Menon

Nidhiya Menon is associate professor of economics at Brandeis University. She is a development economist who has worked on a wide variety of topics including environmental influences on child and adult health, gender and social norms, and most recently, the effects of climate change on human capital in the developing world.  Her research includes both theoretical and empirical work, and spans countries including Bangladesh, Brazil, Chile, China, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Vietnam. She holds a PhD in economics from Brown University.  While at the Harvard Pop Center, she plans to work on projects analyzing climate change (excess heat/inadequate rainfall/glacial melt) on health of vulnerable groups (young children and the elderly) in South Asia (India, Pakistan and Nepal).
