Halim Yoon received her PhD in public administration from Syracuse University and her MSW from Seoul National University in South Korea. Her research examines how social policies affect work, family caregiving, and health among older adults. Her dissertation used causal inference methods to investigate how reforms to the Social Security retirement age affect a broad range of well-being outcomes among middle-aged and older adults in the U.S. As a postdoctoral research fellow at the SPHERE Center, Halim works with Rita Hamad on research at the intersection of social policy, health, and health equity.
