Stephanie Jones is the Gerald S. Lesser Professor in Early Childhood Development, and the director of the Ecological Approaches to Social Emotional Learning (EASEL) Laboratory at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is a developmental psychologist trained in child development, prevention science, and social policy. Her research investigates: the causes and consequences of social-emotional problems and competencies—including the effects of poverty and exposure to violence on children and youth’s social, emotional, and behavioral development; and the strategies, programs, interventions, and pedagogy that foster social-emotional competencies among children, adults, and environments.
