Tom Lindman earned his PhD in public policy from the University of Washington and MPP from the University of California, Berkeley. He uses causal inference methods to study how U.S. social policy affects family well-being, drawing on concepts from social demography, epidemiology, and labor economics. As a Bell Fellow, Tom is studying how policies that provide job flexibility for working parents—such as paid family leave—interact with employment and affect parent and child health.
