Brian Keegan

Brian Keegan is a computational social scientist who holds a PhD in communication from Northwestern University. His focal areas include critical and public interest data science, reactionary environmentalism, governing information commons, and high-tempo online collaboration. He joins the Harvard Pop Center community as a visiting scientist while on sabbatical from his position as associate professor in the department of information science at University of Colorado, Boulder, where he directs the Colorado Laboratory for Users, Media, and Networks (COLUMN). He is also an affiliate of the University of Colorado’s population center where he runs a project on demography and extremism. While at the Harvard Pop Center, Dr. Keegan will be working on a book combining critical demography and data studies about emerging strands of ecofascist data science.
